Don't shoot me. But ABW 85H or EBL56H

Hi all, new onto the forum but not new to these fantastic motors. However I'm going to dive back into Sprinting etc in 25 and am toying with getting a decent spec Mini, possibly EBL56H (which apparently was ABW 85H), or I have my eye on a period built Sprite (but thats a different story)..
I've done a search on here before posting and can find the odd mention of it, and before I do go near anything I do tend to do my research so this is the start of that research.
So what do people know of this car? Firstly I'm under no illusion that its anything particularly special so whatever you know/thoughts/opinions I'm happy to read them. I feel if there's history on this it'll be here somewhere.
Thank you.

I enquired after that one, I couldn’t get a proper answer on the spec of box, who built engine etc..the tattiness of it added to that put me off. I did however go and view this one. It’s really pretty, does need a little tlc to door bottoms in the main. Good spec and the chap selling due to health reasons will move on the price.

thank you, yes its taken an age to get some info from the seller, its not an S block but has a decent sounding spec, but its very tatty. That white one, interesting, perhaps I'll widen my search although at £5k more its a push.

If it has an S V5 with it, looks OK at £17.5K (offers) - its not long ago £20k was a V5, a few bits and a rusty shell...

Hi Andrew,
Is it a rally spec car your looking for as I know of a recently built Hillclimb / sprint spec that's just come up for sale.
Thanks
Drew

Also know of a tidy tarmac stage car available cheaper, and won it's class on the only hillclimb event it has done recently.

If you’re not specifically after an S, this is a cracking buy and very quick

Hi Andrew you may already have bought a car, if you haven't I have something that may interest you. The first is a Morris 997 Cooper that has been a competition car for a long time, it currently is a Cooper S full race Hill-climb spec road car class presented in the Alexander racing colours Pacific Blue with OE white boot lid, roof and bonnet the 1380 engine and 4sync straight cut box will need a rebuild/refresh.
The second is a Sebring Sprite road car class, only 10 events since build top spec 5 port from Brett Sims with 148 bhp at flywheel, this car is presented in Bermuda blue with OE white stripe.
If you would like more info on the specifications and price please message me.
Best regards David

I do like the Works connection to ABW 85H…..and the EBL 56H registration continues this theme…

Hi all, just logged back in, great responses thank you. I'll drop a few pm's about as I am not looking for a rally car as such, just a sound base that I can use for both road, sprinting, the odd hill climb and basically to have some fun in, so I can't do (or afford) anything mint or perfect!.
