10 inch wheels

Hi. Does anyone know any garages, tyre fitters that can put tyres on a 10" wheel. No one seems to have tyre fitting machine that goes small enough to fit 10 inch wheels in Portsmouth, Waterlooville area. Thanks

I have some 1/4" thick strips of leather that I use on our tyre fitting machine and that will hold the wheel okay to pop the old tyre off but to be fair I fit most 10" tyres by hand and the SP44`s I had stated the warranty was void if machine fitted.
The last Yokohamas I fitted fell on the LP918`s with just the palm of my hand

Care to maybe put up how to fit them by hand? I'm not sure there's any garages near me that will do 10" tyres. We used to have a tyre beading machine in the car club I'm in, but we got rid of it since too many inexperienced members would ruin their wheels or tyres with it and blame us (the committee).

ABS is right , if you can hold the wheel still or even use a stud and nut through a bit of timber to hold the wheel , then with plenty of liquid soap you can literally pull the tyres on by hand . … Shirley

Merit tyres in Abingdon have small plastic or hard rubber spacers that they use to allow their machines to grip the small 10" wheels. Used them on my refurbed 10 inchers this morning. Great job too

The main man said that they were readily available from the machine manufacturers.

It's me again...... Re fitting the tyres by hand, I've really struggled replacing the used tyres by hand (after a wheel refurb). Using the shallowest depth of the rim - the OUTSIDE on S's but the INSIDE on most others. it's OK getting the inner part of the tyre onto the wheel. But there seems to be less 'give' when you're struggling to push the other, unseated side over.

Tried it again last week....., lots of rubber friendly KY gel too.

hi i always did my motor bike tyres a couple of levers and big rubber hammer and a bit of lube but had to be careful of the inner tube now with tubeless wheels it is a lot easier so the mini wheels should be just the same must get a tyre and have a go a 175 /70 13 should be a nice work out
