Twin Tank Vent Pipes

When the twin tanks came factory fitted (post 66) was there always the welded metal tags under the parcel shelf to hold the vent pipes in place ?

Was it just on latter models, eg MK2 onwards ?

I replaced the parcel shelf on mine (mk 1, 67) as massive speaker holes had been cut in it. I vaguely recall there being tags. But the vent pipes are only long enough to go straight down and not cross over.

The replacement parcel shell doesnt have them and I'm trying to work ou whether I should put them on.

I could be confusing vehicles.

Can anyone help ?

On a related theme, anyone know where I can get the clips that hold the crossing vent pipes in place at the top of the rear seat ?

I think a 66 should have the tags as i copied mine off a 66 car.

Try Somerford. They recently recommended part no. 2H400 to me for this job.

My late '66 S doesn't have tags under the parcel shelf or next to the RH tank.

Be sure to look in the technical talk section as this topic is currently being discussed there as well in a thread with VERY informative links.

There's a long thread on the Cooper Register forum somewhere. Probably under mk1 cars.

Yes all the tags should be there from the beginning of '66/ introduction of twin tanks.

I thought so.

It has been a while so couldnt remember for sure.

If anyone has any pics/info I'd love to see them.

Touch wood - I may get chance to do something about it over the Xmas break.
