Hi all, Well my worst fear came true today. The Body shop that I have been waiting on (for three years) to finish the body work and paint just informed me that he has been told he has to move. He is not sure he will even open up again. If he doesn't open up I am looking for decent shop to finish the body work and paint the shell, somewhere on the west coast. I am in Sacramento California. As you know, most auto body shops only want insurance work.Any recommdation would be helpful.
Thanks Mike

I get it, I'm on a waiting list to drop a car on west coast for top notch body and paint. That may tell you something about what you are looking for. I'm as far east as you can get with out getting wet. My guy who loved doing minis correctly died in his shop 12 years ago. That took a year in probate to get projects back. I got 30 day notice of a doubling of my rent mid Covid. Same week dad passed away from kidneys. I had to relocate from 5500 sq ft to 3300 sq ft. I'm working with retired body shop guy working in his back yard. He has a young welder into Hondas doing rust repair. Each work in their own shop and want jobs to get out of the way. The cost of materials has gone crazy. Doing classic minis my race cars and mk1s don't get a trailer queen job. They were never delivered like that, solid rust free and a nice paint job. The down size came a higher price than the larger space. I'm looking to get rid of all nine of my cars projects and rolling complete as well as 24 year collection of parts good used and NOS. Maybe a sign of the times. Good luck Steve (CTR)
