Rear hydro displacer loose

Hi everyone, I think I probably know the answer to this, but not the solution. Both rear hydro units are in good condition with good lugs, but when fitting to the new rear hydro subframe they don't firmly lock in place (after twisting to lock). The locating 'tabs' on the rear subframe could be bent a little for better fitting, but not sure what to do to ensure a snug and secure fitment.

I suppose that you could 'adjust' the subframe hydro retainers a bit, but...... Once the hydro units are in place, with the knibs within the retainer bits, as shown in your pics, the hydro units ain't goin' nowhere. They are well secured due to the pressure exerted upon them rearwards by the strut, in turn loaded by the knuckle that's............ Anyway, they ain't going nowhere.

Hi Peter, that's just what I wanted to hear - thanks. Slightly disconcerting since the fronts are so secure, but all makes perfect sense!

I discovered that the new Heritage wet rear subframes don't have the locking tab plates fitted (at least ten years ago they didn't) however as Peter said once under load there's no need for them, they are just an assembly aid as far as I'm concerned. My displacers haven't fallen out yet after more than ten years.

Thanks Robin, I would "assume" the load would keep them in too, but you know what they say about assume, so good to check! Much appreciated.

That locking plate looks different from how I remember my original subframe was, I seem to remember the displacer locked underneath the ring, much like a petrol tank sender unit lock ring. I don't see how it is supposed to work on yours. Where did you get the subframe from ?.
