What Paints Do You Use?

Being just about to start some welding, I know that I need to get the surfaces bright and clean before I begin.

But then I read about weld-through primer. Is this a good idea?

Once a section has been welded and linished, I'm guessing the repaired area would benefit from primer. But should I use a simple primer? Primer filler? Or some other type of filler?

My current plan is for the car to be finished using cellulose paint. Should I be using a specific primer for that?

In summary: Any advice on which paints I should be using as I go through and try to patch the bodywork?

Weld through primer or zinc spray where you have overlaps is certainly better than nothing between the two layers.

Once welded I apply etch primer from a spray can to avoid the immediate flush rust that'll otherwise apear.
When everything is welded, ground back and panels straightened I'd apply an epoxy primer.

I have no clue about cellulose paint...

Hi there, I used to utilize Caropax with which I had good results especially with MIG spotwelding. Caropax is not any more availlable so I tried EUROPAX which obviously superseded Caropax with equally good results.

I do not know if this paste is availlable in UK and perhaps some of UK citizens are a bit allergic against the name of the product.
