It seems the car has been restored at some piont in denmark some years ago...
Does anyone here has some intersting information?
Maybe considering starting a restauration tread...

BPE770B, a 1071S in Almond green/white.
Bought new by a builder in Surrey who had it one year and traded it in for a Lotus Cortina. It was bought by Francis Rossi in 1971 who had it painted Ford Tawny bronze with tinted windows. It ended up as a wreck in the early 80's and was bought by a guy called Geoff in Oxfordshire. For a couple of years it was rotting in the garden of a house in Charlton On Otmoor about a mile from my Dad's garage. I nearly bought it but the guy wanted silly money.
A friend of Geoff's from Banbury had it, did some sort of half arsed restoration and sold it to Paul Halpine (RIP) at P&L Minis around 1999 who rebuilt it. I knew of the car and put Paul in touch with the guy selling it. There was little left of the original car by that point as it had been so butchered. Brian Slark rebuilt the engine. It then went to Denmark around 2000/2001.
I have pics of it somewhere.

This is the only one I have.
It was an odd car in the way it was restored. I would have done it in the Ford bronze with blacked out glass and Cosmic wheels but it was done in green/white. The interior was done in two tone porcelain green with cream centres in leather

.
P&L Minis did lots of customised stuff and BPE didn't escape, having stuff like the four spotlights etc. It was well finished but needed to be either a detail perfect original or restored to how it was 50 years ago.

I remember that car too.
Paul was a nice bloke, but his idea of restoration was a bit too blingy for my tastes. It ended up, as Costa says, a bit of an odd fish. Not back to standard & not restored as the Status Quo car, but a weird semi custom job. The work was nicely done though.

As a big fan of Status Quo, I'd be very interested to see this restoration. Is there any provenance from the days it was owned by Francis Rossi?

As a fellow Quo fan I'd love to see/hear more about this car.
I was just thinking, listening to Status Quo in the car this morning that I've been a fan for 40 years now, I got my first album, Back to Back in 1984 when I was 10 years old!

Don''t worry about Rossi's mini Fan-Fan........... Just concentrate once again on the music as shown above. That's it......, volume full up and get rocking for a few minutes
