Sad news today that Steve Harris has passed away. Another tuning legend and true enthusiast from the Mini world taken too soon.

Very very sad. So many memories of Downton reunions in 2009 ish at Downton and Gurston Down. RiP Steve. And thank you.

Very sad news indeed. A fabulous engineer and one of the best at polishing cylinder heads. I will miss my trips down to him and especially buying him lunch...always had ham and chips! Rest in peace mate, Roland

Funeral Notice - A celebration of life!
Steven Harris
Steven Harris sadly passed away on Wednesday 19th June at the Salisbury Hospice after a short illness aged 75, he was a much loved husband and dad.
All are welcome to join us in a celebration of his life at the Salisbury Crematorium, Barrington Rd, Salisbury SP1 3JB on Wednesday 10th July at 3:00pm
Family flowers only please, but if desired donations in his memory to the Salisbury Hospice.
A wake will be held afterwards at 4:30 location TBC.

Very sad news indeed, wish I’d known in time for the funeral.
I used to compete against Steve at Gurston and other venues around the South West and always shared a pint afterwards. A true engineer who never stopped improving. I used to beat him regularly at one time, my engine wasn’t one of Steve’s, but the first time I took it to him for a rolling road setup, his
initial comment was ‘F me that’s got some torque’. I’ll never know what he did to his engine afterwards but I really struggled to keep up from that day on. It made things interesting and vey competitive. Another true legend sadly gone.
I got married and had kids and sadly lost contact.
RIP Steve
