Anyone from Abingdon ST who remembers Charly Lonsing?

I know it is unlikely, but I ask nevertheless...
During my research I came across the former Austrian race mechanic of Dr. Schmöllerl, his name was Charly Lonsing. According to his obituary he is said to have joined special ST training in Abingdon in the early 60s. His training and knowledge got him the nick name "Professor BMC" down here in Austria. Sadly he died in '64 mid-season at the age of 31.
Just wonder if anybody might have known or heard of him. Any ex-Abingdon employees about here? Anyone know of such trainings in Abingdon?
