Cosmic Mk1 wheels

Post by hanlminiman »

An image has just popped up of a Mk1 Cosmic wheel with a wheel cap which to me looks totally original. My question is - Does anyone know who supplies the retaining spring - thingy.

Hi Cliff

See if JB will sell them separately… I have used a set of these on my RW10S wheels with no problems assuming you have the locating groove…

 the ones you linked to on Ebay look - <<Polite Mode - ON>> - not exactly like the original ones in the photo above. Was the making of them some sort of Kindergarden project?
Yes I am a nerd: I am researching the Austrian Mini-racing scene of the 60s and 70s :ugeek:

Hi Kevin
I've got a set of those but without rings from a VW source which i think were for Mk2 wheels. I do prefer my Catmint solid ones.

Not sure where to get the retaining springs thought JBW would sell them .
Reg the centre from the wheel posted , it is an original one and it’s a push fit type without retaining clip .
I know these fit on the mk1 4.5” wheels with curved ribs .. as these do not have a clip groove .
These are very nice centres as the logo is embossed …
I am looking for one BTW 😀.

Cheers
Luís
