Recently on a FB group an interesting set of 12” wheels came up , they look like a 1275GT Challenge GKN wheel , but not same wheel ( nor same as Metro challenge ) and they are marked JKD + Longman 😀

Anyone familiar with these wheels ?

Cheers
Luís

My wife had a Metro and living in Abingdon, close to ST, where I was a regular viisitor, she had soon become the owner a set of 6" (?) RONAL wheels and tyres for her little 1300 Metro.

Were these RONAL wheels an option for ST cars?

I think they would have been the homologated wheel for the Metro Challenge cars .

I wonder if they were initially made by JKD for Longman before BL took them on? The Metro wheel never had that cast writing and were a GAW**** part number from what I remember, so a BL product rather than aftermarket like the GKNs

never seen them Peter, any pictures you may have ? i only know of the GKN made Metro challenge wheels ( picture attached )

that would make sense Graeme , i have a Metro Challenge wheel and definitely not same wheel, moreover the JKD/Longman wheel uses cone nuts seats ... something not ideal on a proper racing wheel.
So these wheels might have been a kind of prototype ?

Thanks for your inputs!
