Very little.
The mounts and steadies are different between them, but these are external parts that are easily changed between them.
Final drive ratios and speedo drive ratios were different, but again, not too difficult to change.
Outlets for heaters and overflow / header tanks are different, also easily changed.
The engines themselves were much the same internally.

Verto Clutch - Mini is hydraulic, Metro is cable but as said above the different external parts needed are easy to swap/change over.

As Spider has said the base engines are pretty much interchangeable, if you want to put an A+ engine on a pre A+ gearbox you need to use the primary and drop gears from the pre A+ as the teeth form are different and the idler gear bearing diameter is bigger on the A+. If you are using a 1275 A+ engine out of a metro in a mini you will need to use the mini cam chain breather cover or cut and flatten the existing one or the breather hits the fan, you will also need to drill out the heater take off as its sealed on the metro.

Yes, good pick up here Martin, the later ones did have a Verto and Cable Clutch, though, the early ones, I think to 84 had the pre-verto & hydraulic clutch.

The front engine plate is different on the Metro as there is a front engine mount fitted. The engine plate just needs the extra 'wings' removed or swap for a Mini one.

The front engine plate ( timing gears plate ) is the same on mini and Metro variants , the ADO16 ( Austin 1300/1100) variants are the ones with different engine plate using two engine mounts on left side of the car . Mini and Metro use only one gearbox attached mount on left side .

I am fitting a Metro engine and gearbox assembly into the round nose.
Regarding the verto clutch.
The Metro I have was cable operated.
Mini is hydraulic.
The metro clutch throw out arm is different for the cable, so easy to swap this over.
But is the verto clutch plunger the same for the Mini and Metro, or different???
Thanks

The mini pre verto plunger differs from the A+ Verto , as the release bearing design is also different .
If you are using a verto A+ clutch you must use a certo plunger and bearing .
I have seen people using a verto plunger with mini pre-verto arm, not sure if it works properly .
