Does anyone have an original factory 4 1/2" reverse rim wheel that they could take an accurate measurement off ?

Looking for the length from the hub contact face to the edge of inside rim

Simon, Are you referring to the original 4.5J S rim
Just in case measured both....I
original 4.5 S rim from my 970... exactly 4"
Original 4.5 s reverse rim is 3 5/16"

I have a set of NOS 4 1/2” Dunlop 918s and I measured from hub mounting face to edge of the inside lip and it’s 3 1/4”.

If I remember correctly, all of the measurements of the different steel wheels are included in THE WHEEL DIRECTORY.

I have a browse through occasionally and it never fails to amaze me the sheer amount of 10" mini wheel manufacturers there were........ Both steel and alloy

I have the original factory fitted 4.5" wheels on my '66 S. If I understand the required measurement correctly mine measure 3". This was measured by cutting a rigid piece of wood which fitted across the wheel resting just inside the lip, I then dropped a steel rule vertically down onto the contact face which read exactly 3".

I repeated the exercise, this time I mitred the ends of a piece of wood such that it sat squarely on top of the outside radius of the rim without any contact with the tyre where I measured the distance to the contact face a 3-5/16"

Thanks for all the answers.
I was looking for the size for reverse rim off a cooper or 850 not the cooper s rims .

I have some 4 1/2” x 10 minilites and I am trying to work out what they fit

Yes, thank you for the clarification, the Cooper S have spacer moulded as part of the rear brake drum which I assume are not on other models, it might help with your quest if you consider using the standard spaced "S" drums which I believe are readily available from the popular outlets.

A little off topic but, I have two sets of 5 each reverse wheels. The first set I sent right out and had powder coated OEW. The second set I recently picked up on my trip to Ga. Of that set 4 are painted OEW and one is wheel silver, sort of more gray than silver. Like everything else, powder coating has gone up. I'm not sure coating the 5 either color will bring value up to cover cost. Steve (CTR)

Hi Simon
Are you going to Gaydon on Sunday or Tuesday evening? I have some original steel wheels which I could put in car for you to measure.

Hi, these S rims are stamped 4.5J x 10. Offset is 4 inch. Not sure if this is what you're looking for. Hope this nevertheless helps. Cheers, Doug.

Sorry that's not the offset as it were but the dimension that you were referring to. The actual offset is 1 and five sixtheenths. Cheers, Doug.
