Hi all,
What does the bonnet stopper look like on a 60s workscar?
I would like to make a bonnet stopper like the one in the photo.
However, I don't know much about the way it was fastened back then, the shape of the stay, the color and design of the wire(?).
Great seniors, if you know, please let me know.

It's usually just a bungee strap hooked on the overrides and a small hook under the bonnet badge.

The original looks to me like the badge has been removed and a hole for an eye-loop had been drilled through. Presumably so that you had a hole in the bonnet that would remain UNSEEN if you needed to return the bonnet - and car - to normal.
As for the bungee rubber, looks to me like it's simply hooked under the sub frame attachment points.
That's my take on the original photos. Add a nice colour bungee and you're away.....

Thank you for the reference photo!
It was a bungee strap, not a wire!
What is the diameter?
In this case, it's attached to the bolt on the grill.
The hook under the bonnet badge is the same color as the body and looks great.

Downton 700HCG has the spanner under the bonnet.

The bungees are usually all the same diameter about 10mm.
Its actually hooked under the overrides on the bumper, the red bit you can see is the hook on the end ,not the grille fastner.
Yes we fitted the hook just under the badge, using period images , and painted it the same colour as the bonnet stripe.

I didn't know that the position and hole of the bonnet badge was used.
It's very helpful.
We are considering black for the bungee strap color.

It looks great from the inside under the hood!
That's a very good idea!
