Just manage to fit the MS tie rod bushes kit, one purple and one black color bushes supplied, instruction said fit the poly purple one to the inner end? :? which end is inner end, is it better to mention forward and aft / rearward to avoid confusion? excuse for my poor interpretation on the wording, but fit it wrong does make difference, any help Rich?
:P

Richie,
Please can you explain the recommendation for NOT using two purple jobbies. It's not completely clear on the instructions, although I did follow them implicitly, I'd like to know the reasons why.
Thanks

Rich,
I am so stupid, does it mean the purple bush fits to the end ( nut side) of tie bar?
middle refer side view of car not front view,? so the blk rubber bush goes to disc/caliper side?
Should we have 2 washers at the end? 1 cup and 1 flat washer?

Dumb Al

Interesting... which bush is the hard one???? i would have thought the black one would be rubber and therefore softer - and so should go on the inside (at the back).

After getting rid of the second poly bush - I missed the lamp post by about 9" after a tie rod snapped - I've always fitted one poly and one rubber bush with the soft one inside.

The hard bush does its job (of controlling camber change) under braking as the tie rod tries to pull itself back through the bracket and increase its length. Under acceleration the rubber takes the load and you don'y really car what's going on.

If i'm doing something dumb I'd love to be enlightened???????????

Cheers, Ian

Yeah! So My fitting is correct! right Rich?
Its a good idea to have a drawing attached with instruction as description is easily misunderstood sometimes!
Do I still need the cup washers at the end?
