Would anyone care to give me a recommendation for a C40 style alternator, there are a few on the market.

Powerlite Dynalite.. benefits of an alternator with the look of a dynamo . spec either + or Neg earth .. then fit & forget ..not cheap but as with most things you get what you pay for ( i purchased two at a NEC show & got a discount )
Before you buy the main consideration is what wireing you intend to install.
