Hey guys got myself another engine for my 62 morris mini 850 , what i am after is help to date my engine as close as i can to date of manufacture without paying through the nose for info...
The engine number is........8am/u/h 337199 ....... I reckon its 1962 but would like to try verify this date can anybody help me, if anyone smart enough to get as close as pos.....

That engine number corresponds with about an August 62 delivery date here in Aus. Actual manufacture could be three or more months before that given that these 8AM motors were UK sourced.

It would be interesting to hear what sort of date an engine with a similar number that stayed in the UK would be dated?
