Bromley Classic Car Pageant to return 2025 (after 2024 was cancelled due to ULEZ)

*See new update for return of the 2025 event in latest post below.*

The Bromley Classic car Pageant 2024 has been cancelled due to ULEZ. Although 40 year old classics would be ok, people attending and those with newer classic cars less than 40 years old, would have to pay to attend as Norman Park, Bromley is now in the ULEZ zone. A real shame and along with the London to Brighton Mini Run another event is cancelled....let's hope London Mayor Khan is voted out of office this year!

I should imagine the Enfield Pageant will suffer the same fate.

"The Bromley Pageant of Motoring is set to return in 2025 at its new South of England Showground home – presented by Classics World."
Bromley Pageant of Motoring is back! In partnership with Classics World, The Bromley Pageant of Motoring will be returning on the 27 July 2025 to a new home of South of England Showground, Ardingly, West Sussex.
This spacious venue offers all the facilities we need to stage a high quality car show for all the family, enabling Bromley Pageant of Motoring to be brought back to its former glory. And crucially, it’s outside London’s ULEZ.
The show’s new home will also allows for camping on the Saturday evening. Along with a well-maintained venue we will also have use of the permanent car parks with excellent disability access, toilet blocks, drinking water taps and the Norfolk Pavilion for indoor trade stands in addition to the famous One Make Parking, club displays and outdoor trade and autojumble.
Classics World believes that the spirit of the Bromley Pageant and its traditional Norman Park location will thrive at its excellent new venue in West Sussex. The new event will be bigger and better, offering a fantastic motoring show for owners and enthusiasts of classic cars covering all eras and all makes and models. With car clubs, special displays and entertainment, it’s bound to be a fabulous day out for all the family.
Tickets will be on sale 1 August, 2024."

Yes, if cars over a certain age enter the ULEZ (Ultra Low Emissions Zone) ie. All the London area, they now have to pay £12.50 a day. Basically it is a tax to raise money to fill the black hole in TfL (Transport for London's) finances caused by the Mayors bad management. If it was about clean air and pollution it would be a total ban rather than just a charge which still allows non-compliant vehicles to continue polluting as long as they pay.

FOI request detail.
"For 2022, the money generated from ULEZ between the 9th of January 2022 to the 7th of January 2023 was £230million, of which £150m came from daily charges levied on drivers of non-compliant vehicles entering the zone and £80m from PCN (Penalty Charges) income."

Yes but here's the thing - I don't know what the cut off date is, but on vehicles where there is no emissions data like the cars from the 60's and maybe 70's and before? ULEZ does not apply so one can drive any of our British classics but not a BMW from the 80's as I found out to my £90.00 fine!

Finding out if your car is or is not ULEZ compliant is easy;

I didn't notice Mayor Khan being swept from power in a huge rejection of ULEZ, or maybe that news hasn't made it up to the land of the Northmen yet :lol:
