2 inch SU Carb on a 1330-1340cc?

Tried doing searches and can’t seem to come up with much. Was curious how well a single H8 or HS8 would work on a 1330cc or 1340cc A series with a nice flowing head? Any benefits over say a Weber?

I'm currently running a HIF44 on my 90 Rover mainstream Cooper. Engine spec 11.3 to 1 CR, full race big valve cyl head. !293 CC, zero deck, 285/285 APT cam large LCB. I believe I'm giving up a little overusing my twin HIF38s or HS4s. I have so many Webers I don't know what to do. But I won't be cutting for any Weber boxes again. Steve (CTR)

I would rather not make room for a Weber myself. So a 2 inch SU wouldn’t help on a big valve head? I have seen twin HS6’s before and figured one H8 or HS8 would work.

For some reason I have ended up with two intakes for twin 1 3/4 SU. While I have seen the set up on race cars, I have not tried it myself. While Vizard says the metro single HIF44 intake is well designed I question it's ability to flow at a 2-inch rate. They are big carbs also. Give it a try and let us know. Steve (CTR)
