Here is what is on my Mini

The ones I've seen are date stamped. Early date stamp was month and year, later it was week and year, so I'm guessing, 29th week of 73.

do you see the stamp to the left mfg logo?

this is on a 1963 Mk1 Austin Mini 850

39th week (3) 1963

Maybe the bloke did not hit the 6 hard enough ?!!!!!!!!!!

WB for Wilmot Breeden. They made the locks and latches. They still exist as Weston Body Hardware, and still make the door latches

I have noticed that stamp on other latches as well

It's the Wilmot Breeden logo followed by week number and only one digit for the year. The entire year was never stamped in the boot locks, only the last digit. I have similar on my 63

Did this method of week & two digit year dating start 69 onwards?
