MK1 rear window clip

Post by WesleyB »

Hi,

becuase i do the Monte Carlo Historique rally 2024 i have a next question about the practical mini.
Is there a possibility to open the rear windows fast during a service of the rally ?

I have see that on photo's ever ...
At my mini the clip is fixed. The only way is the screws but that's not practical

Any advice, pics or advice ?

Thanks
Wesley

Replace the center hinge pin with an R-clip, maybe?

Yes I am a nerd: I am researching the Austrian Mini-racing scene of the 60s and 70s :ugeek:

I have one here somewhere where the bottom part of the pin has been removed, so that it pops in from the top. That way the window can be fully opened. I'm fairly sure it came off our rally car, where we had a large jag type water container in the rear pocket to fill - for the screen washers.
