LHD Mini Van Interior mod's

My mini van was previously converted from RHD to LHD before I acquired it. A major problem is the driver's seat position, since as there lacks enough room to move the seat rearwards as the existing front load floor edge on the LH side is straight and not curved as is the RH side. I decided to remedy the situation and convert the straight portion to resemble the curved section as if it came from the factory that way. Here's the 'before' pic:

I was able to acquire these bits from Somerford:

After a week of of extensive fabrication and the use of many tools, this is the end result:

This enabled me to gain almost 2" of rearward seat adjustment! I'm not all that tall (5'10") and the seating position was less the comfortable with the old Innocent mini seats as well as the new low-back Cobra ones I purchased. The next problem was what to do with the spare tyre as it would also be in the way of the drivers' seat in it's designated position, (now tool and spare parts storage) so I relocated the spare tyre to the RH side on the load floor: In addition to the driving position mod, I also added a Swiftune steering column bracket and a one inch thicker steering hub adaptor from Moto-Lita to improve things further.

Another performance/tuning mod was to add an AEM Air/Fuel Ratio Gauge, (story for another day) just saying, one of the best tuning aids for a highly modified engine! Lastly I did the "fly-off" handbrake conversion, just because...

Proper Job ..can understand why you did that conversion to get some room.. i could never get used to a Fly Off on my road car so the original Handbrake Lever want back in.
