Seat Dimensions

Are the seat dimensions the same across the range of Minis that were produced through the years?

I have after market seat covers fitted to the original seats of my 65 Elf, I was wondering... if I could remove them and fit to a 80's recliner seat from a park lane or something similar.

I'm just looking for something that reclines to help my back :(

Cheers

I don't have a access to any early ones right now for comparison, but I think the general size and profile of 80s seats is very similar.
Measurements of some 80s Mayfair recliners are:
Seat base
51cm wide x 46cm long front to rear x 18cm deep at front.
Back rest
51 m wide x 46cm high
Some of these have the removable head rests.

Later 90s seats are similar but while the base width is
the same the length is 50cm and have more of a 'bucket' profile.
The back rests are taller at about 55cm plus head rest.

The 90s seats are the most comfortable and 'hugging' but they are a pain when lifting to gain access to the back.

The 80s seats aren't that comfortable and the head rests are too low but at least they recline!

Depending on the fit of your covers (tolerance wise) I reckon you would be OK with the 80s ones. They are usually pretty plentiful and cheap too .

Thanks for the reply.
I took the plunge and acquired two 80s seats, not had the chance to compare them at the moment, hopefully at the weekend.
I'll let you know how I get on.
Yeah there most probably not that more comfortable than the original, but hopefully the reclining option will help.
Cheers
