Hi All. I haven't done this for about 20 years and the cars I fitted them to were of no real value then so the odd slip here and there was of no consequence. (When I last fitted them to my 'S' I had a screen fitter do them both and to my horror he split the rubber and marked my paint!)
I need a step by step guide to refitting Mini windscreens if anybody would be so kind. would also like to know what type and diameter of cord to use. I have the diamond shaped tool. Many thanks. Mark

Re: How to fit a windscreen
No cord, the rubber fits on the car and the window slid in using either a plastic tool or very carefully an old flat screwdriver with the blade rounded off to loose sharp edges, lubricate well with a spray(I use screen cleaner non aerosol)seal the screen then put in the locking strip.Sounds easy but 14 years with Autoglass helps.Alternatively if you're passing I'll fit it while you wait lol

Autoglass repair, Autoglass replace.....
Cheers. Just realised last screen I probably fitted was more like 25 years ago.

Re: How to fit a windscreen
Get some silicone dash spray tesco stuff will do.
Fit seal, squirt loads of silicone spray around it, place glass in seal on scuttle, then with a blunt screw driver ease it in.
Easy with a bit of practice.
Chrome strip you need a special tool, again lots of silicone spary.
New seals can be a nightmare... Good second hand one does the job best.
