Hello chaps
I’m back, well never really been away just not playing with minis for a year or so..
I went to the heritage centre with JR last year and I was blow away with UHR850 I’ve been looking for a complete car to use while I restore my 64 1275S..I found on eBay a early car built 1st jan 1960 they must have worked New Year’s Day.
After a lot of haggling I paid no where near the asking price and a 560 mile road trip it’s home..
So what have I got, it’s been restored in a 1980’s style restoration, nothing really fits and the paints ok ish, but that’s part of its charm.
The car retains many of the early fittings and features the floors are of later type and replacement panels non genuine.
There’s new S wheels and disc brakes, the original engine is on a pallet and a replacement is fitted..
In conclusion it’s a slightly scruffy usable classic not a trailer queen claiming to be matching numbers etc..
There’s been a few stories about the car on the internet but it is what it is, if anyone has any history I’d be happy to here about it good or bad..I’m just going to enjoy playing with a mini again and possibly upsetting the rivet counters..

Looks a bundle of fun! Farina Grey is a great Mk1 colour too, is the entry list from a Memory Lanes book?

I’m guessing “works car 21” was a pool car or some costs written off to a supplier?
Sold by J V Daniel..

For a non-Brit, what is the significance of AOK on the registration plate? We've seen it on another somewhat famous early car.

Just a Birmingham registration - there were 999 of them issued! 1AOK to 999AOK.

The 'OK' bit is Birmingham - there was OA, OB, OC, OE, OF, OG, OH, OJ, OK, OL, OM, ON, OP, OV and OX. Plus DA and JW from the mid 1970's.

Crompton Parkinson were Electric Motor manufacturers, unrelated to BMC. Very unusual Heritage entry that.
