the judder at speed on my clubby continues

jacked up i can see the wheel hopping up and down as i let it run in gear,,, (jacked up)

its not buckled wheel,,i checked,,

when i turn front drum without wheel on it rubs tight on brake shoe on one spot ,,then goes free again,

with no wheel on and in gear, running, the drum seems to undulate up and down..

removed drum,,refitted wheel,,still hops up and down while in gear and wheels rolling

is this sign of a warped drive flange???

not buying one for sake of it,,as the cars only done 15000 miles,,but if it seems nackered ill get a brand new one

what are your thoughts people??

If the flange is warped, there should be run-out at the wheel rim (as you say, the wheel is true).
-Hold a pencil or piece of chalk close to the rim (resting on an axle stand or similar to keep it steady), and rotate the wheel by hand. As you move the pencil closer, it will start to mark a section of the rim (you will also see any run-out as the gap between the rim and pencil changes).

Rotating the drum without the wheel on will nearly always make it catch, as there is only one screw holding it on, so it cocks over.
I put a couple of thick washers and 2 opposite wheel nuts on to clamp the drum against the flange.

Drums can and do warp. From heat, having a handbrake left hard on for a long time (not very common on the front ;) ), and casting variations.

Maybe the drum was machined excentric?
The tyres can be excentric (i.e. round but the tread not concentric with the bead), but that wouldn't explain the drum run-out :(

I guess you've tried swapping the drum and the wheel side to side, or front to back?

Check the size of the pots/joints. There are two sizes. If you've get it wrong it'll rattle like crazy.

not a rattle--
the wheel bounces up and down and side to side,,the cv joint and shaft are correct and a1 condition

I suspect you have a stuck outer wheel bearing, which have grinded its way down in the flange surface and thereby made the movement you describe.
