Barbon Hillclimbs - 10th June & 15th July

Post by GraemeC »

Entries are open for the two 2023 hillclimbs at Barbon

There are two days of competition on the hill, both featuring cars that range from road-going family saloons to powerful single-seat racing cars.

10th June 2023 – This extremely popular annual event is a qualifying round for several local & regional championships and attracts many “Club” competitors to this exciting venue. But don’t think that you’ll see less spectacular cars at this event. There’ll be an excellent variety of cars including single-seat racing cars and some surprisingly powerful saloon and rally cars too. All this and a fascinating selection of historic cars as well.
As each year passes, we attract even more championships which results in 80 – 90 competitors to this meeting.

15th July 2023 – This is the second of our two annual visits to Barbon and once again we welcome some of the quickest regional competitors all aiming to win their class, or at least set a personal best time.

Although the British Hillclimb Championship calendar no longer includes Barbon, it does mean that we attract even more competitors to our events in an even greater variety of cars. What hasn’t changed is the determination of each competitor to set a new personal record on the hill, so you can be sure to see many cars & drivers competing for positions in their own championships.

Just a few days until entries close (officially at least) for the June event.
We’re down on numbers this year, so although we’ve met our minimum necessary to run, we would welcome any late comers!

Well that turned out to be a cracking weekend - the weather was brilliant and the competitors seemed to enjoy themselves.
2x Practice and 4x Timed runs made for a great day's sport and a wonderful mix of machinery from early Bucklers and Bentleys, through classics, single seaters, moderns right through to a full blown Polo R5 rally car smashing the Rally Car class record.

Quite a few forumers in attendance, some as spectators, some as entrants. It really would be great to see a few more of you though!

Still time to enter for July!

The numbers are similar to June so IF the weather plays ball (and drivers keep largely to the black stuff) we might get a similar run of 2x practice and 4x timed runs.

Great value for your ££ and it’s the most relaxed competitive event you’ll do.

There’s a few Minis entered and Murph will be there with his new toy (and no pressure from Murph jnr!).

If you can’t enter then at least come and have a look-see and maybe plan for next year? Save a bit on your spectator entry fee here: http://www.ticketsource.co.uk/barbon-hill-climb
