Magnetic camber/caster gauges
Maybe I'm thick, but on a modern racecar, you use alloy wheels. How do one get these gauges to attach?

Re: Magnetic camber/caster gauges
Paul, Can you post a link to the itunes page for the inclometer?
As for the magnet gauge... make a steel plate to strap on to the face of wheels ?

Re: Magnetic camber/caster gauges
not sure what it's called on itunes, I just searched for 'spirit level' (but I've always called it the angleofdangleometer as it measures angles of dangles )
I downloaded one of the free ones- a very useful wee app.

Just search for Clinometer in the app store, I don't know if the link will work for everyone as its direct to the app store (should be OK if you are searching on an iPad / iPhone and you have an account). There is also a free version of this one

Hi ED,
If you take away the split pin and screw on an extra crown nut the gauge fits correct. What gauge did you choose? I presume it shall fit a MINI??!!

Re: Magnetic camber/caster gauges
is it really worth removing the splitpin, torquing it all back up again, using a magnetic guage, refitting the pin and retorquing it all again.
sounds like a recipe for a loose wheel bearing if you ask me.
surely its better to by a cg4/5 and enjoy a bit of equipment that can be bolted straight onto a stud with no messing, jacking the car up etc etc. i.e a far better method for getting an accurate measurement?
ive never had any joy with either of the magnetic ones ive used - you only need such a small error in fitting the gauge and it all stacks up into a huge error on the scale, particually if your doing the castor
