O/S headlamp on the tilt?

My O/S headlamp is slightly tilted, is that normal?

The bowl is fitted such that the top adjuster is at TDC but when the lamp is fitted it ends up slightly but noticeably tilted. When you look at the fornt of the car, the lines in the lens are not parallel with the ground, where as the N/S is.

The position of the bowl is dictated by the holes in the wing and the lamp has a set position in the chrome surround, dictated by the 3 tabs on the back. So I started to wonder if its supposed to be like that on RH drive cars?

The angle of dangle of the headlight can be adjusted using the two screws in the front, one at 12 o'clock, one at either 3 o'clock or 9 o'clock.

I think Haynes means that the lens itself is clocked so the diffusion lines are not horizontal. Can you put the lens in upside down?

If that's the case, the lamp must be in cockeyed.

Yes thank you, that's what i meant! I guess the bowl is somehow not quite right.

It's more likely that the lamp is fitted into the carrier wrong. There are 3 lugs that locate in 3 sockets in the lamp surround, the bit that clips into the headlamp bowl. Hard to describe, but easy to spot on the actual headlamp.

I had some "after market" Headlight holding rings that were total crap & misaligned the Headlight .. fitted BMC ones they sorted the issues.
Also had issues fitting the Headlight Outer Covers .. again just aftermarket crap... try to use OE parts.
