can you or is it even possible to convert wind up windows to sliding windows on my 1962 850
i now know its the wrong doors maybe of a delux so can i convert or just source new doors !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi lazza, me again! Aussie deluxe wind up window doors will fit an 850, i think you swap the latch plates / nylon buffers from door to body and vice versa.

All Aussie Mini's up to the first lift up handle clubman models (well there were a few roundy lift ups) shared the same Mk1 style shell.

It was quite a populsar thing to do, the deluxe came out in 1965 and all those 850 owners wanted the new wind up windows! Bit like the UK where Mk1 Brocade was painted black to be like the more modern MkII !!

Just re-read your question and realise you are asking inf you can convert winders back to slider, you can, but it's best to get a pair of doors. and do it as per factory.

Whereabouts in Aus are you? I maybe can give you a lead on some doors?

hey graham im in caroline springs mel vic i am very greatful for youre helpi will now attempt to source new doors rather than try to convert so i have two delux doors for sale or swap with glass and winders in tact iam also looking for an 850 engine and gear box in good nik with pudding stirrer gear stick also on the look out for origional steering wheel i seen one in a photo on the net it was pure white can you get these or is this off a dif car ya think greatfull for all youre help ......laz
also have the engine in my mini for swap or sell its 900 cc with gear box attached
