Hi.
Has anyone or is there a thread to follow, fitted a pair of H4 carbs to a mildly tuned 1071.
Engine has flowed head and 255 piper can with new followers.
I wish to use a Cooper S filter box
On a first pass, the H4 elbows make the filter box hit the dash pot. Assuming cut outs in base of filter box are made oval.
Thank you for any information.

Normal filter box does not really fit H4s, SC components are making copies of the Vortz box, looks good but all at a price.

H4’s are also a lot longer than HS2 and HS4 so you’d struggle to keep it off the firewall

As Pete says, but when we fitted these back in the day we used the MG filters, which looked like the early 1071 filters.

To get our 970 on the road with H4s we used these until we found MG 1 1/2 ones on ebay.

Thank you, it took a while to find the box but it was on display at Mini Fair, very elegant solution with forward mounted air intakes to keep
noise out of the cabin.

Hi Panda

I’m running H4s on my 1071 with LL medium ram pipes. No issues as yet and a lovely sound!
