Hs2 SU fuel line clamps.

I have my twin HS2's cleaned and went thru, fresh gaskets and back on the car.

Somehow I've mislocated the fuel line clamps that connect the steel tube to the carb fuel inlets, where it's braided steel covered.

Is it of dire necessity to have specific clamps due to the braided covers? Or would a general hose clamp suffice for now til i can get replacements?

I've some time yet, probably won't mess with the car til it's warmer... but I'm close to needing it.

Fuel in the tank, carbs hooked up, spark plug wires and timing set, a battery... and she should be running again after a decade setting.

Just running things through in my mind to get there.

Ordinary hose clamps are fine, actually better than the originals.

Thank you sir!
Just wanted to ask... never dealt with braided covers like those before, just a little different.

Agree with Larry, 100%.

Better still, I say are those circular spring loaded clips that you open up with a pair of wide nose pliers (I use a pair of wide jaw tongs). Open up, slide over and release. Just completely fitted them to my S together with ethanol resistant petro-hose. Come in all diameters and used by MG locally towards the end of production.

The really sad part is that the originality gestapo notice them straight away

I'm not too worried about originality-
She's got a 1275a bored out, with several upgrades done by previous owners.

I'm familiarizing myself with older cars again, and this is my first mini.

I just know that some things tend to work/fit better than others-

I can tell you what to use on old american ford or chevy cars, and any aircooled volkswagen setup you'd want. Lol...

Appreciate it gentleman!

New Years eve I left the shop about 4:30 in a mad dash to NAPA auto parts for a box of Corbin clamps. Yes, the spring type I use on my fuel systems. Very important to also use the correct hose. Steve (CTR)
