I'm fairly new to the world of minis.
Owned one for a decade- unable to drive or work on it... until now.
So I'm in process of putting the flywheel and clutch back together soon.
It's a 1275A block with a pre-verto clutch.
I'm aware that there are "A" marks stamped in the pressure diaghphram, and on the inner plate for the clutch disc. I'm aware that they are balancing marks, and should be lined up together in position when assembled.
My problem is- there are no visible marks on the flywheel itself. It appears to be a stock flywheel.
I know it can only be located one way on the crankshaft to line up with the lock washer slot.
But how do I know which of the three holes line up with the three posts on the inner friction plate for the clutch disc?
Is there a standard alignment to go with?
Example-
#1 piston TDC on compression stroke, and the "A" marks are all on top?
Something like that?

Tartan red and black
I can't take credit for what others built- all I can do is try to put her back on the road.
You just can't fix stupid... you can hide it sometimes though...

Re: Flywheel balance?
The "A" marks on the diaphragm and pressure plate align with the TDC marks on the flywheel. As you say, number 1 tdc and the A marks to the top.

Re: Flywheel balance?
On the later flywheels, they moved the windows for the backing plate and the one with the A is now the window with the Timing Marks on it.

Re: Flywheel balance?
It's good and adviceable practice to have the flywheel balanced - new or old - they are usually way out of balance.
Once this is done, you can mark the position of each component
