Looking for some advise on a oil leak I have from the centre of the Hardy spicer diff output joint. Was expecting to find a bolt when I removed the drive shaft but It isn't there!!!
I'm sure I'm missing something obvious but any suggestions as to a why its leaking form there and the way to fix it?
Many thanks,
Mark.

Thinking out loud as it were, I've never had one in my hand, but is that not a pot joint to hardy spicer conversion?

You've got the relatively uncommon 'knock on' type of hardy spicer output flange that fits in the same way as a pot joint with a circlip.
These seem to have been fitted to the last of the automatic minis prior to the fitment of pot joints. Earlier cars appeared to have used the more common Cooper S bolt on type flanges.
You're missing the pressed in centre cap from the output flange, it's similar to a core plug.

imack I could kiss you !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Not that it would be allowed or that I would actually do it but thank you so much your absolutely right. I've just gone back into the garage to the bag that the hardy spicer parts were in and found the missing core plugs
The car is off to the rolling road on friday and I was starting to have small heart attack.
I shall now be able to sleep again.
Thank you wantafaster1 for also replying.
A much relieved Mark.

I find the core plugs need a bit of sealant around them or they weep.
