Quick question,

What is the correct length of the slave cylinder push rod.

Hole centre to end .

Its kinda irrelevant ... If the clutch arm is in place and the slave is bolted up, the rod needs to be long enough to reach from the end of the clutch arm to the piston when the outer end of the piston is about 1.25 to 1.5 clear of the circlip.

With machining /wear of the flywheel and back plate .... and maybe different clutch plates you really can’t be sure that the top of the clutch arm is in exactly the same place that it would have been when everything was brand new....

The only thing that’s really important is that the slave piston is in the right place ....

Ian is right. But........ I lengthened mine just to ensure that at neutral (off-load), the inner part of the rod was as far INSIDE the slave cylinder as possible. That way the push rod would benefit from the maximum possible throw allowed by the hydraulic system.

I worked the hydraulic ratio/volumes out mathematically wondered afterwards whether it was all fuzzy logic! Just so long as the clutch clears......

Agree with you both but it was just a question of what is the factory standard length of the pushrod (whether it works or not in practice).
