Hi, I’ve just joined the forum recently and wondered if anyone could help me out?
I have been a member of TMF for quite some time, I have a couple of Rover Coopers..but for the last 4 years I have been restoring old Corgi diecast model Minis.
Mostly the works cars, but more recently I have diversified, and started to convert some to privateer entries on both the Monte and RAC .
Before I begin I try to research each car, to decide if I can produce an acceptable model.
They are a pretty crude given Corgis casting , but I like the diamond lights and old looks, plus donor wrecks are reasonably available.

The car I am currently considering building is the 1964 RAC rally car number 74 of Harvey/ Cardell. I have found a thread from 2010, and the YouTube footage.
I would be very grateful if anyone had any information about this car. I am particularly in need of info about the smaller stickers/ badges on the A panel ,and to the left of the rear number plate? Also the badge above the door numbers?
If anyone could help with any pictures , I’d be very grateful indeed, and would assist greatly.
Thanks

Might be worth looking for motor club badges of the period. Brecon Motor Club was I think Dennis Cardell's "home" club.

billy Cooper, I think I have had a few WRC Minis from you, quite a selection you have.

I am not building to sell, more as a collection of alternatives.
I build from wrecked models, the worse the better. Feels wrong to change reasonable models that have survived 50 + years.
Having a few problems with downloading pictures at the moment..I’ll get some sorted.

Norman Harvey and Dennis Cardell. Try searching for Stuart Cardell on FB Rallying Groups and asking him. (Son of Dennis)

Did a few events that car, including auto cross. Gold with a black roof. Pin strip on the waste line?

Thanks Whistler, that’s great . I’ll see what my wife can turn up on FB.

Those photos are excellent thanks Pete. I have recently finished a Monte Carlo version of the car….I didn’t spot the pin stripe.
I see the Monte car had a badge to left of the number plate also? Could it be.. a BARC shield?

Great looking car though.

Way back in 2004 I took these images of the Monte car 109 when it took part in the 1st MCR Minis to Monte run which has around 60 entries.

Didnt Norman Harvey race it aswell? Im sure I’ve seen him on an entry list for Mallory Park in the mid 60s.
