Currently building a 59 Morris 850 to race with a vintage club in the states and I’m just trying to sort out what I should do with the brakes.

I’ll be running 7.5” Cooper S discs up front, and drums in back. Brake m/c’s are “free” per the regulations so I have a clean slate to work with. My biggest concern is safety and wondering if there is a good option for a dual system? I was looking at the Wilwood setup with running two m/c’s with a separate system front and back.Any cons to running a setup like this?

In my research it seems that Mini 7s run a single master cylinder setup? Is there a fail safe in this setup if one corner fails spectacularly?

Any advice greatly appreciated.

I think the general opinion is that if the front failed then the rear only would be next to (or worse than) useless.
I would say, build a single line system with high quality parts and well-protected lines and keep checking it.
Wilwood master cylinders on single line systems are becoming popular now e.g. KAD kit.
Brake failure from overheating the fluid is the greatest risk (ask me how I know ).

I’m planning to run the brake lines through the cabin to protect the rear line as best as possible.
