The latest news from the Innocenti factory
Been near the sad remains today, and I have asked a local about it, he said the owners of the land were going to mow it down completely, but were blocked by someone, that went all the way high politically, and proved that the 2 earlier parts (the ones where the Lambrettas and the Italian Minis were made) were designed by some famous bloke, and it was a heresy to take them down. So, as of this last July, the "destination of the area" was changed overnight, and it will - possibly - be addressed as Cultural/Recreational use. I am moving all the people I know to start a something, like a Milanese Car Museum (Yes, Mini's and Lambrettas, but Alfa Romeos were made here in the area!), will keep you guys in the line. Ideas? Foster? Andy?

Those are the buildings indeed, very nice looking stuff. I only wish there were less politicos involved in the planning/recommissioning/zoning etc. I certainly don't have the funds -not even if I sell all my Mini's! - to perform this all alone, but I would love to be part of it. A museum, with some "specialists", plus some storage, plus a space for some fais, that could be the idea...

Maybe you should send an Email to this bunch then, I think they are usually looking for new locations in historic buildings..

What's left of it now?
I was there years ago and couldn't resist sneaking in, only to be shoo'd by some angry tramps soon after having climbed over the fences!
Back then I was told it going to be flattened within months. This must have been 7, 8 years ago...

4 mini's (possibly 6 - it's a long story) and one lammy, so at least 25 Euro's from me.
