hello guys, whats a satisfactory amount of float on the idler gear? with one gasket im getting 0.05mm and then with a thicker gasket im getting 0.017 and i dont have any other shims/washers. should i resort to a bit of 1500 wet and dry and use the thinner gasket?
cheers chris,

std gears, .005" - .008" idealy
straight cut, anything over .005" due to no side loading issues.

cheer littler, what about the primary gear (1275)? im getting 0.11thou float on it, which i know is too much and iv measured the thrust washer at 0.121 thou with some good digital calipers.. which i imagine is already large to start off with?.. the primary gear looks new, iv just seen the price that minispares want for a new thrust washer for the primary gear and im shocked.. but a little concerned as i think i have an over sized one to start of with, any suggestions of how to grow a fatter one? haha or how to rectify this problem? would it be wise to check the bush on the primary gear?
