Lucas flasher fl5 35038

I've just been debugging my indicators, and having checked everything I tried swopping the new shiny rely with the old beaten up flasher and it worked fine (the new one wouldn't flash the stalk light).
On the old one is FL5, and the number 35038 followed by B1877
Now having gone down the lucas part number rabbit hole I thought I could ask here!
Has anyone come across this rely before? Is there a replacement that works?
My old one is beaten up but will be re-used unless someone can help.
Cheers all
Ed

This is the correct one as far as I know Ed. Not sure wha the difference to the 35038 is .. will have a look in my Lucas reference books later on.
Modern 'Lucas' ones are total crap, lucky if they last a few minutes.
Always go for NOS Lucas or a good used one.
A tip, if they rattle, chances are they are broken inside.

Lovely, mine looks very similar but 38 instead of 20.
Pretty sure I saw some genuine Lucas ones like that available!
Cheers

having problems with mine too. I think I burned out the replacement too but before that it would not blink the flashers...It just turned the flasher light on in all three positions but never blinked. my one question is whether the middle post is for hot??? and now where do the other two wires go or doesn't it matter?? I brought it in and wiped it off and the same numbers. I can't see the wires as the color is gone.
Also does it matter if it is facing up or down?? prongs up seems easier it came out prongs down.

Lucas 35020 is the normal Mini fitment. The 35038 is a 48 watt unit for a vehicle with side repeaters.
