New world's record........
Well, at least a personal best time for doing a front suspension knuckle.......Under 30 minutes......
Poor old Gumby's left front paw was sagging a bit, so, finally decided to replace usual probable suspect, the knuckle and cup.....
Absolutely easiest one I have ever done.....loosening wheel nuts to tightening wheel nuts, just a bit under 30 minutes.....
Old knuckle was pretty rusted, and, cup was right through to metal...Found a new trick, the knuckle was well rusted and swollen, and, didn't want to shift......I found using a small pickle fork just perfect to pry it out of the arm.....
Speaking of the cup, it popped right out with a screw driver....Anybody who has ever done one of these, will know, that isn't usually the case, it's usually quite a struggle, and, eventually ends up with a propane torch being involved......
Everything else was pretty straight forward, once the knuckle was pried out of the arm, the trumpet just fell out (again, not a usual occurrence).....
luckily, I have an original Leyland Cone Compressor Tool......much better, easier to use than any of the aftermarket ones......It always surprises me, how much you have to squeeze the cone to get the knuckle in and out......kinda scary......
Getting Gumby sorted one little job at a time......next job, find out why the windshield wipers don't work......ever onwards.....
