Is there any difference in an early rear or front subframe to modern ones?

Have both from early 60s Mini Austin Seven and wondered if they are specific in anyway before i flog em

Early front subframes had studs in the top towers, and nuts/washers to hold them into the shell. Later cars (early 61ish?) went to long bolts.

There was quite an interesting thread about this recently that suggested the different plants were supplied with either studs or bolts to fit to their car's front subframe.
I think the only difference on the early rear subframes was the smaller size of the front trunnions but either type will fit the car.

The rear early subs pre hydro shouldn't have the openings in the rear cross member for the hydro valves

Very early (59) subframes have welded nuts (1/4"UNF) on the vertical LH-side, where the PD Petrolpump was fastened, and consequently no holes in the horisontalal top or bottom- plates where the newer petrolpump ( AUF 201) was fastened. Changepoint for this must be around the time the PD pump was replaced.

The radius-arm brackets was missing the slightly diamond-shaped spotwelded reinforcementplate, around the hole for the radiusarm-axel.

The well known late 60- beachcar rewealed inverse stamped MOWOG lettering on the horisontal top and bottom-plates.

Could be interesting to know the changepoint for the 2 latter diffrencies.

The biggest differences between MK1 & modern is the one bolt fixing in the front one & the rubber mounting a single bolt subframe won't fit a MK1 Mini & vice versa. Rears are similar, but as has already been illustrated not the same.

i recall reading an article in a mini book about early front subframes when fitted on the assy line, something was done to overcome the stripping off bolt's the ones that pass through the bulkhead apparently it was very easy done, and many front frames were discarded.

This was the reason there were changes early on apparently.

I think it was in the mini 25 book i must dig it out and have a look

Stupid or not MOWOG is stamped on the rear and stenciled on the front.
