Gearbox Casing Numbers

Hi all,

Can anyone tell me what the stamped numbers on the off-side of the front face of our gearbox cases mean please? Presumably they must relate to something meaningful like the intended mating engine, internal gears, FD or something similar?

Believe only the first 9F etc decodes to what cc motor it’s from.

My 190 box is stamped "C/R XXXX". CR for close ratio. 1071 cooper s
