I agree - ONLY original "in period" stuff.1965MOKE wrote:I prefer period sixties stuff on my moke....there are so many repro ones around but what do you use ?
The cufflinks & keyring, were given to me, by the cheif mechanic, who made/built the Turbo conversion, on my car.

Re: Period key fobs?
Without wanting to brag I have hundreds of 60's keyfobs, I had a real fetish for them a few years ago, amongst my favourites are original Downton, S&A as pictured above, & many BMC dealerships & suppliers. I'll take a couple of pics and post them in a day or two.
Always happy to see what other people have though.

Why not if you got it - flaunt it and yes, to see what other people have in their collection, is what makes these threads interesting

My 1071 was supplied by Stuart & Ardern in Acton, it would be brilliant to have one of those, are they available as a repro, or is the real thing still about.

Re: Period key fobs?
To the best of my knowledge there are no repros out there - the S&A fob was available in either gold or silver plate. You occasionally find the real thing for sale on eBay.36inter wrote:My 1071 was supplied by Stuart & Ardern in Acton, it would be brilliant to have one of those, are they available as a repro, or is the real thing still about.

Love the response so far...I reckon there could be some mouth watering stuff out there, My Moke was supplied by University Motors (commercials) so I have some repro choice? but I woulld love an original fob

well, perconally I think the search, is one of the interesting challenges,
and SOO rewarding, when you finally get, what you search for
Good luck with the hunt.
PS I have now been online, for four years, and I have never seen any other keyring, than the one Simon gave me.
It was send by proper transport as Kevin brought it over to Denmark, in his MK I S

My latest quest, is to find the bracket, for a Lucas 608 mirror - but these are very rare
When I visited the Mini Cooper Registre day, at Beaulieu in June, I spoke to a few people,
and they said this bracket, was made by Lucas, so they could sell the 608 mirror, as a aftermarket/accessorie mirror.
Thats why they are so scarse now

Re: Period key fobs?
I thought about doing a repro S&A key fob, & actually got prices, but the tooling cost made it prohibitive.
They do come up on fleabay occasionally, but I haven't seen one for a while.

I've got to ask, my car was supplied by them new, I know they were linked to the Minisprint but what is special about them supplying the car?? not in a nasty way, just want to know.mk1 wrote:I thought about doing a repro S&A key fob, & actually got prices, but the tooling cost made it prohibitive.

Re: Period key fobs?
The Sprint was designed & executed by Neville Trickett at the request of Geoff Thomas, the two of them manufactured & Marketed Sprints together for a year or two. Neville then left to do other things & Geoff sold the project to S&A who continued to market a modified version of Neville's original sprint for a few more years.
Hence the later uglier versions are generally called S&A Sprints.

I am pretty sure most cooper/rally fans will have seen these in recent months on ebay going at various prices...they seem popular.
