I think this photo shows the Mk1/2 to Mk3 door frame differences quite well.

You're right. They don't. Maybe the late Elf/Hornet ones can be fitted and I think I have seen them as an accessory in Mini catalogues

The Mk3 Elf/Hornet upper door frame trims fit Mk3 doors and are available from Minispares.
http://www.minispares.com/product/Class ... |Back%20to
(If I remember right the Minispares reproduction trims use a different size fixing rivet head to the original factory trims).
Upper Chrome (Stainless) Door Trim Rivet Positions:-
10 fixings per trim.
Evenly spaced along each straight section. Not on the curved parts.
Nos 1&10 are slide on, all others are the pop on type the holes are drilled 1/8"

Thanks for that Mab. Thats thrown a spanner in the works ! So MK3 is longer going by the picture...
I bought some Trims that were advertised as being MK1/2 but they seem a little too short along the top to me..
Ill have another look tomorrow.
Thanks all.

Trims for mk3 doors will be obviously too tall for mk1/2 doors.

I've got original elf/hornet trims on my mk3, note how close to the roof gutter a mk3 door frame is compared with an external hinge car.

well, how about the Innocenti Cooper stainless steal door frame ? They are very easy to install on a mk3 door.

But hard to find! They are a snug fit though, and because they wrap around the whole top of the frame can cause some door fit issues. I've seen a few Inno's with poor door fit causing the stainless trim to take the paint off the B-post.

Jip you are right about that, but finding those is a bit easier on this side of the channel.

I had these fitted to my John Cooper Garages converted Rover Cooper 35LE - like all Inno parts they are quality items and very easy to fit. I have a pair that I plan to fit to my 1970 1275GT when finished...
