Mini gearbox on ebay with blanked off diff ??!!!

Seen this on eBay ...

One gearbox looks to have the diff housing blanked off
Any ideas ??

That` unit was used to power something....saw one like that years ago....a guy had a large pulley bolted to the flywheel to drive an implement on his farm.

Used the engine to drive / pump something driven from the crank?

They are also sometimes used as an empty sump for putting on the Dyno.

ADO16 front plate too.
Wonder if it was used as a generator ?
