Can anyone identify these piston rings 998cc Cooper MK2.
Engine number 9FD-SA-H 35832
The second and third compression grooves have two thin rings in each groove.
Can these be replaced with a single ring?

They are one type of a Gapless Ring.
It does appear a standard early piston, so yes, Rings are available for it.
