I have a 3-1 1.7 inch maniflow exhaust manifold fitted, my twin 1 1/2 heat shield lower spring retaining plate fouls the exhaust, because of this the carb won't fit. Is it a case of just spacing out the lower plate against the rest of the heat shield enough to clear or has anybody found a better solution?

I know we had the problem once and I think we reversed the bar and put triumph springs (shorter) on it... maybe bent it too and elongated the holes???
