Been fitting up the speedo and instruments to HOY tonight ...
Went to fit the bulbs into the oil pressure and ignition lamp plugs and this happened ... see pics
Not sure what to do as cant see how to fix the claw ring back into place .. any ideas grateful received.

Don’t they just push in? Might need a tweak to help it fit.
As a metal working Olympian you’ll be fine

Haha, this has got me at the moment - maybe I'm thinking too hard
The clip holds into the speedo but the holder/bulb just falls off

I had a similar problem. The indicator and high beam lights just keep popping out. I used a drop of bathroom sealer to fix them in. Someone should tell Autosparks....maybe I will call them Monday. R

This has been an issue for a few years. I’m sure if there were better bulb holders Autosparks would use them. Short of starting the manufacture of bulb holders themselves there is probably little they can do about this. I got round the problem last time I ordered a loom by asking them not to fit bulb holders but leave the tails long. I was then able to refit the originals. If you still have the originals, then better perhaps to neatly join old to new rather than having holders dropping free.

I presume as they have two wires they use a separate earth earth connection and not earthed through the casing and that claw?
If so I’d just look at securing the claw ring into the holder with 3 or 4 drops of superglue.

i found that one of my Autosparks bulb holders( ignition light) when it fits into the back of the Speedo is loose (ish) no matter even when i bend those tags to tighten up the fixing ..i think this bulb holder could come out of its location when the car was driven .. my solution was to secure the bulb holder cables with a light cable tie so the Bulbholder would not fall out ..with the later intention to find a good solution & this Post has just reminded me i need to do something about this issue :oops
Andrew i think Autosparks do a Good Job .. just a shame their Warning Light Bulb Holders are not up to BMC standards.

I might have some originals if that helps you?

I ended up using super glue. Have you tried screwing the e10 illumination bulbs in yet? Mine didn’t work, replaced them with sockets from a local auto parts supplier that use #57 bulbs.

Must admit that I re-used my originals as they fitted SO much better

Thanks for the replies everyone. In a way I'm glad its not just me that has or had the problem
The all metal ones seem to fit fine, it's just the two 'two wire' holders that are the problem. The bulbs do screw in OK but haven't electrically tested them fitted yet.
I'll go with the Superglue method first as dont really want to cut a brand new harness about. If that doesn't work then more drastic measures may be the only answer. I think I have some originals on another loom. HOY's original loom was butchered beyond belief and the holders were missing !!!
Norman, apart from this issue the loom is very good, the earlier issue I had with front fitting was my misunderstanding of how it actually ran along the slam panel.
These holders are definitely something that should be addressed.

I've tried an industrial strength glue called Bryan and so far it seems OK

Wasn't Bryan the snail on Magic Roundabout? I hope your not using snail slime.

Yes Andrew.
Mine constantly spat the bulbs out, or it was virtually impossible to screw them in. I have wedged them in for now, but I think the best option at the moment is to find old ones and do a neat graft onto the new loom.
I was also unable despite a lot of fiddling around unable to clip the vertical part of the loom into the clip on the left side of the speedo.
Chris.
