Assembled the rear suspension onto the sub-frame today....after fitting MS camber adjuster brackets I ended up with 3/16" toe out.
The plates on the MS brackets are a tad thicker than the standard brackets. Think this is what changed the tracking!
However, I may have had some misalignment before I fitted the new brackets...didn't check prior to fitting.
Been pondering how to get the tracking back to 1/8" toe in.
Anyone else encountered this after fitting the MS camber bracket?....if so...what did you do to correct the tracking?

Do you know what your tracking was before changing the brackets ?

I purchased a set of the MS Brackets & had issues with the rear tracking .. One issue was the Radius Shaft Hole in these Brackets was undersize .. easy solution opened out the hole to correct size & then noticed both these Brackets were not fully welded so overall these MS Brackets are not fit for purpose ..I was going to return then with complaint but never did
Solution was to buy set of Minisport Camber Brackets they are the adjustable type & eventually they did do the Job & allow for fine adjustment with Track & Camber .. However that was after i found my actual Tracking Issue was a Bent Radius Arm
I found the easy way to check for my bent Radius Arm was to measure the pair of Radius Arms to ensure the same dimension between the centers of the Radius Arm Shaft & the Stub Axle centers.. this dimension check should work unless BOTH Radius Arms are Bent

I don't see the point in a a camber only bracket, you need toe and camber brackets to get it right so might as well use them.

Mad are the best I'm not overly impressed with the minispares ones..

Just wanted to add...these are new arms....so, they are not bent....BTW...have never seen a bent arm...they are quite substantial....other parts would distort before they would.

Arms certainly do bend (appreciate yours are new in this case Dermot).

I've previously 'corrected' adjustable rear brackets that haven't had sufficient adjustment by slotting the hole for the inboard end of the pin, adding a large, heavy, plain washer under the spring washer at that end, setting everything up where I want it and then welding the heavy washer into place.

I think I biased the adjustable bracket towards the 'toe out' end of its adjustment when I did it, as it is unlikely I'd ever want to add more of that later - if the arm did take a knock it would be more likely I'd have to toe-in further to accommodate.


And the KAD ones can also be limited on the adjustment needed - it also depends on how straight/accurate the subframe is and indeed the heel board etc - lots of tolerances to account for.

I have seen a few bent and one totally split in half, albeit on a Miglia racer, However on a run in Ireland (the roads were full of holes) , I split mine where the three bolts to the backplate. Mini Spares have a jig to test the straightness of the arms....

My subframe checked out as straight and true...did all of the triangulation checks. (this is for the race mini)

The MS brackets are thicker plate to start with....if they haven't taken this into consideration when drilling the hole...that in itself will produce minimal toe out.
I have also noticed they are not exactly formed at a 90 degree angle...again, this will push the outside position of the radius arm further back....'resulting in toe out.

The KAD brackets look to be very well made and have a really good amount of adjustment.

As per Spiders' question...seeing as I am going to remove the MS brackets...will install the originals and check the alignment with those ones....

Yes, noted your Arms are new here D, but as Graeme has mentioned, as stout as the arms appear, they do certainly bend. In recent years (about the last 15) I'm yet to find a Kerbside one that's not.

Like you, was always sure that the subframe would bend or the brackets break long before the arm would bend, but, I've never found that the case. To give you an idea just how strong the subframes really are, this one got really screwed up



yet the subframe was perfect.

The KAD brackets are the only ones I would consider using , I've had the Minispares ones and Mini Sport ones brake too many times when circuit racing .

Toe out rears will be fun to drive, lift off oversteer central!! I used to run a smidge on my mini Se7en but then we were used to chucking it sideways

KAD suspension parts are very well made but terribly painted. Paint just peels off in pieces.
The adjustable brackets have a groove machined in them to clear the arm that will allow a bit more toe-in to be gained vs fabricated ones.
